BC.

floating resort uniquely positioned only minutes from the migratory paths
of millions of pacific salmon. A short boat ride places you in the finest
salmon fishing waters found anywhere in the world.
Saltwater
Sport Fishing
Situated between two of North America's most productive salmon rivers,
the Skeena and the Nass, Dundas Island sits directly on the
migratory path of millions of Pacific salmon. Our guests get the first
crack at these fish as they make their way to local rivers and down the
BC west coast to their place of birth and spawning grounds.
We
specialize in ocean bright salmon and a wide array of bottom fish. Most
of our guests prefer salmon fishing with a chance of catching a trophy
size Spring ( Chinook \ Tyee
) in the 30 pound and over class. Large Northern Coho invade the waters
later in the season and provide exciting action on light gear and fly
rods for these bright bullets averaging 8 - 14 pounds. Halibut are
abundant in the calm protected waters. "Chicken" halibut in the
15 - 25 pound class make up the bulk of the catch but each year large
"barn doors" get weighed in. Other species of bottom fish that
can be targeted are lingcod, red snapper, and a variety of other rockfish
that cumulate on the reefs that surround the island.
Saltwater
Fly Fishing
Welcome to the secluded world of Haa Nee Naa Lodge and the breathtaking west coast beauty that
encompasses this protected island paradise. Explore the ideal location to
fly cast for Pacific Salmon.
Imagine
yourself entering the realm of miles upon miles of kelp forests which
border the shorelines and reefs of Dundas Island. Prime feeding grounds for
all 5 species of hungry Pacific Salmon. Millions pass through Dundas Island waters each summer making it the premier
saltwater fly fishing destination on the British Columbia coast.
Large
Northern Coho (silvers) invade the area waters in mid July and provide
fly anglers some action packed days. A good day on the cast fly would be
in excess of a dozen Coho hookups but the average catch would be 4-6. The
acrobatic Coho range in weight from 6 - 20 pounds with the average
weighing 9-10 pounds.
Peter Morrison, professional casting
instructor, teacher and factory representative for Sage Rods and
Scientific Anglers, conducts select saltwater fly fishing seminars each
August for Haa Nee Naa
Lodge guests. Peter will go over all aspects of saltwater fly fishing
from casting, fly selection, fly tying, anchoring, productive areas and
much, much more.
